On Tuesday, September 7, two brothers - Justin and Tod Purvis - will leave The Creek and the Cave and set out on the road trip of lifetime. They leave with one goal: to see the great sights of America... before they go blind.

Justin and Tod both suffer from Choroideremia, a degenerative eye disease which can - and often does - lead to complete and total loss of vision. With the light in their eyes literally growing dimmer every day, Justin and Tod have decided that there are so many people, places and things in this beautiful country they’d like to see. A camera crew will be along for the ride to document this emotional and unforgettable adventure.

The Creek and The Cave has been very lucky to have Justin. He has been a force behind all three of the "Up The Creek Improv Festivals" and many of our special events like IMprom. As such, we are extremely excited to kick-off the Driving Blind road trip with all out, no holds barred, comedy/improv/karaoke EXTRAVAGANZA.

Here's what we've got planned:

9:30 - 11:00 Variety Comedy Show/Date Auction/Silent Auction

So here's how this is going to work:

Funny people with mics.
Nick Turner!
Jason Saenz!
Dustin D'Addato!
Dave Hill!

Funny teams with the lights out.
TBD

Funny Single Men and Women Offering Themselves on Silver Platters (for money).
Dan Soder
Amey Goerlich
Kim Ferguson
Julian McCullough
Rebecca Trent
Abby Holland

Bid on our experiences auction! Punch a comedian! Be fed delicious treats! Have a musician perform your personal soundtrack as he follows you through the streets of NYC!

Auction winners will be announced at 10:45.

11:00 - 2:00 Karaoke - For $1 a song you can serenade the room with venerable host Rick Conti. All proceeds will go to the trip.

I hope to see you all there. Justin and Tod are great men dealing with a life-changing prognosis. Let’s support them with our attendance, our good wishes, and most of all, our money.

All donations will go towards trip costs and expenses, with all remaining proceeds going to the Choroideremia Research Foundation.
